Charter Furniture is a unique family-owned business based in Dallas-Fort Worth and was established in 1983.
We began as a furniture rental business in 1983 with a strong focus on furnishing individual and corporate apartments with simple easy to order rental packages.
As of today, we service all of the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex as well as Austin, Temple, Waco, Killeen and North and Northwest Houston. We continue to be the leader in quality rental furniture... We rent furniture people buy!
As the demand for furniture continued to grow, we grew our operation and opened our first retail showroom in 1993 in Addison, TX. This showroom, known as our "Flagship" store is about 55,000 square feet and is the area's leader in quality, name brand furniture, accessories, lighting, art and home decor. Some of our favorite brands include Jonathan Louis, Classic Home, Uttermost, Four Hands, Surya, Loloi, Leftbank Art, Boss, Safco and Eurotech.
We receive new product weekly, therefore our showroom is always changing and chances are if you were here last week and you visit today, you will see something you didn't see before!
Charter Furniture started as a family affair! Husband and wife Bill & Jayne and son Mike capitalized on Bill's history in the furniture business and Mike's energy as a starving grad student and launched Charter Furniture Rental in 1983!
We opened our first rental showroom on Inwood Road in 1984! Family friend John, our first non family officer, joined the team in 1985 to help build relationships with area apartment staff and management companies. John's brother Rob came right out of school and became Charter's first Rental Clearance Manager. In 1993, we opened our first retail location in Addison, TX and was quickly followed by our 2nd retail store in 1998 in the Fort Worth suburb of North Richland Hills.
From day one, we have serviced the multifamily industry with our rental division. In the last 10 years, we have enjoyed an even stronger relationship with the apartment industry as we have developed our own in-house multifamily design team. This effort was spearheaded with the introduction of Modeleasy. Modeleasy is the industry's only turn-key model solution. With this exclusive program, we are able to offer 8 pre-designed model packages, that are in stock and ready to deliver to just about anywhere nationwide. Modeleasy offers properties a professionally designed model, for half the designer price. Our design team works everyday to design, fulfill and deliver beautiful clubrooms, leasing offices, business centers, custom models and outdoor spaces... all with no design fees.
In addition to our rental division, our "Flagship" showroom and our multifamily design team, we also operate a clearance outlet showroom next door to our main showroom and a 100,000 square foot distribution center.
