Our multifamily design team recently visited the Eastside Heights apartment community situated in the vibrant heart of downtown Nashville, TN, for a clubroom redesign. This property was going through a significant rebranding initiative, and our goal was to update the clubroom to reflect the new rebranding and to infuse the space with the spirit of Nashville—a city celebrated for its rich musical history and dynamic energy.
Capturing the Vibrancy of Downtown Nashville
The central hubs of apartment living are the clubrooms, places where residents gather and unwind. Our vision was to reimagine this communal area into a lively, engaging space that reflects the ambiance of its locale. After a few refinements to our preliminary design, we landed on what feels like the ideal design for this community. Our final design showcases a palette of vivid colors, an engaging neon sign, and unique artwork, all of which echo the playful spirit of Nashville’s downtown beat.
The clubroom is laid out to encourage social interaction and recreational activities, yet its color scheme and décor fall short of forming a cohesive design. In addition, the fusion of industrial and traditional elements, such as exposed ductwork and columns, gives the room lots of character. While the clubroom covers the basics of functionality, it requires a designer’s touch to transform it from simply functional to a vibrant space with a distinct personality reflecting Nashville’s lively spirit.
Look at those hot pink chairs! Embracing color can transform a space into an area where residents feel alive and inspired. The furnishings were carefully chosen for their bold colors and modern silhouettes that echo the city’s artistic vibe. The hot pink chairs and neon accent artwork are not just statement pieces; they’re conversation starters. The neon guitars on the artwork are a nod to Nashville’s musical legacy.
The communal table is about the conversations, the meals, the meetings that will take place around it. The green chairs are not just practical; they’re inviting. They say, “Stay a while. Talk. Share.” The right design encourages interaction, fosters relationships, and builds a community.
With splashes of bright colors, strategic lighting, and whimsical neon signs this space has been transformed into one that is not only photogenic but also iconic. The “Wow Nashville, you’re the only TEN-I-SEE” neon sign encapsulates the city’s quirky charm and it invites residents and visitors to engage in the space.
