The creative minds at Charter Furniture Solutions journeyed to Knoxville Tennessee where the charming apartment community of Cross Creek Preserve was is need of a makeover for their club room and leasing offices. Inspired by the Great Smoky Mountains nearby, our design team drew inspiration from all the natural beauty surrounding this community.
Cross Creek Preserve, Knoxville TN
Our multifamily design team truly enjoys any opportunity to work with and visit communities like Cross Creek Preserve. This unique property was originally a home that was built in the 1920’s. When the apartments community was built in the 1970’s around the original home, the home was then converted to the leasing office, managers office, club room and fitness center. With only 150 units, this community is small and very charming.
Design Team Suggestions
After our walk through of the property, we determined that our goal in this multifamily community design update was to maintain the character and charm of the original home built in the 1920’s. We wanted to update the spaces but keep the original elements such as the pine wood paneling, flooring and windows and make minimal changes to the structure of the building.
Layout changes we suggested:
- Convert Kitchen into the Manager’s Office
- Convert Grand Parlor into the Leasing Office
Overall design changes we suggested:
- All new furniture, lighting and artwork
- Fresh paint with contrast paint on doors and trim throughout
- Durable office furnishings with custom laminate finishes and performance fabrics
The suggested changes will elevate the overall ambiance of the community. The paint colors and furnishing will create a moody, cozy and charming space for residents and generate a positive impression for prospective residents. Now, let’s take a look at the Before & After for each room!
The Entryway
BEFORE: The large entryway lacked sufficient lighting and a focal point. As the first room you enter, it needs to make a great first impression.
AFTER: Exquisite! The new paint with dark trim add a lot of drama to the entryway. The classic chandelier and large marble entry table provide a beautiful focal point.
Club Room
BEFORE: The club room has ample room and fits multiple seating arrangements but the furnishings felt worn and out of date.
AFTER: We love how the classic furnishings and chandelier tie in beautifully with the pine wood paneling and fireplace. Updated lighting helps to brighten up the club room. The black and white plaid chairs and the sapphire olive green sofa are rich with color and texture bringing sophistication to classic shapes with clean lines.
The club room is a key priority to keep updated because it provides residents with a high-quality living experience. The club room can be a hub for socializing and community events, so a well-maintained club room can be a valuable selling point for property managers.
Leasing Office
BEFORE: There wasn’t a defined space for the leasing office in the main building. We suggested the grand parlor be converted to the leasing office.
AFTER: Paint changes and modern office furnishings give the property a much needed leasing office space. The brass starburst chandelier is eye catching!
Attracting new residents and enhancing the resident experience is one of the many reasons why multifamily communities choose to update their resident spaces. Make sure your residents enjoy your community’s spaces!
